That's good. =D And slightly scary. I always had a fear of deep, dark, underwater levels or areas in games.
Giant eel curled up in the depths of the lake/sea/ocean/whatever, coming up to eat you or something. That's what I always think will happen.

Well, that will happen haha, that's why you will need to stay out from the deep water; this will be a game where you will need to survive.
Oh, I almost forgot about Death in the game, I will add that in a couple minutes.

Oh yay. I'll be avoiding the water then. Happy times.
Yes, I was curious about that. xD; Is Shenlong going to come out of the sky and revive you or will you have to simply start over like in WQ?

I think you should loose a certain amount of treasure every time you die, or something like that. Maybe go back to baby dragon level :3
And Sintact, you're welcome. Would you like me to help with brainstorming some ideas for areas? I already kind of have some.

I like the loosing treasure idea. Though usually in PvP you drop any items you have, is that going to be the same on here?
Here comes a brainstorm~

Ayame, every kind of suggestion is well appreciated; make sure to post all of them in your suggestion topic.
About dying, you will eventually lose some treasure, experience points and earn a "times dead" point (located in your information (next to the PvP's you have had and fights you have lost/won), which everyone will be able to see it). You will not be fully healthful after dead, you will limp, go slow, until you eat something or lie down for five minutes or else (yes, stress for people that are doing quests or fighting bosses). There will be a special song when you die.
Songs in the game will include nature songs (adding your dragon's breathing noises, steps, roars, snarls, growls, etc) such as wind, ground, etc, but yet more in the background, some relaxing music will be playing, something that causes in you loneliness.

I can help with the music if I can get and orchestra together. I have a kazillion friends that would be willing to make music for the game. xD
Thought it'll probably be easier to make it digitally.
Yay for special "you are dead' music. <3

I'll get working on it.
I like that your character can't move for some time after he/she is killed, it gives an appropriate disadvantage to the dead one. Hmm, I am wondering, do the "death points" have any disadvantage to them, other than being laughable to other members?

I hate death points in this other game I played. The more death points I had, the longer it took for me to recover. D=
Maybe that's a good idea to use.

Well, I guess all will depend in role-play. If you have more dead points, people will think you are a noob. The less dead points you have, people will say you are legendary; etc.
The less dead points you have, a better game ranking you will have too (depending in your level and how many times you died).

So basically, they're just a thing that effects your reputation? hmm, that may work out weird, as older members will have more death points than new ones that die more often simply because they have been in the game longer.

As I said before; it will depend in role-play. I would leave it just like something for the ranking (which will affect level, how old your dragon is, etc), maybe there could be rankings for each dragon stage; Newborn, Young, Adult and Old. That way it will be more fair to everyone.

Well, that's good. I hated the increasing amount of time I had to sit there, being dead, and wait for my soul to be thrown back into my body.
And instead of old, why not use "elder"? So you don't feel like your dragon is old, wrinkly and frail...
Or was that the point? xD

I don't want to make this game unpleasant; that's why I will not add to heavy things like "the more you die, the more you will need to wait for playing again). Just make it hard with the hierarchy, quests but at the same time enjoying the atmosphere, music and everything else.
Oh I forgot to reply about the music; it will be done digitally, I have a friend that offered himself to do it (yeah, I talked with many friends today about this game).
Edit:
Actually the word is Elder; your dragon will not look old or have white hair, but he/she will be just experienced with levels and playing time.
Actually an Elder dragon will be bigger, obviously stronger and will posses abilities that not everyone has in the game.
And yes, you will be able to adopt new players (if they are your friends); build up a family too (though mating process will not be allowed, and other kind of role-play should be kept in private; as you can also get your account permanently banned [and being this a paid game, that's not good])
This will not be like WQ that for banning someone ages of waiting is needed; here the thing will be fast and with a strong ruling hand (if one player breaks too many rules [which are just a few]).

Oh, alright. xD You kept saying "old" so I got confused. :]
Awe~ Adopting little players will be so much fun.
Looks like you'll need some one to watch over the games to make sure none of the problems like in WQ happens then, eh?
I'm glad my dragon wont grow so old looking. =D

Actually I will not really care about that behavior, players reduce to that behavior just because they can't do something else; in this game you will have so much things to do, that having a mate and stuff will be only something secondary (plus I think being owner of a castle or having a clan will be better than having a mate)
Adding to this, since this will not be a free game, I am sure I will get a different type of audience than WQ has (more mature and experienced), but still, if too many problems start away, I will make sure to add some filters to the chat, and if this continues, add a moderator or two (between members will need to moderate the game).

That's good. I'm sure not much problems will pop up besides chat spammers and such.
Speaking of which, you will have a blacklist in the game, correct?

A blacklist of gamers or words? (I will reply to this later, as I will go to trot now)

For other gamers. ^-^ As in blocking the user so they don't show up on the chat. Just in case we have spam problems or if some on is pestering us.

Well, you will have your own ignore, friend, and enemies list, if I get to receive too many complains about a certain user, I will disable the chat privilege for him/her.

Yes, ignore list is what I meant by blacklist. That's good.

The next thing I will add to the game organization is information about wearable items, normal items, kind of potions, amulets and customs.

That and add details of the events we will have (such as new year fireworks, Easter egg hunt, random wars against monsters (invading a lone castle), massive monster boss quests, Blood war I, II and so on (yeah, like World Wars) etc.
